DIY Sugar Body Scrub

Sugar Body Scrub

Spending money on a body scrub is something I can no longer justify.

Two reasons: firstly, it's just so simply to make that it makes no sense to spend the money on pretty packaging and secondly, the packaging... There's so much waste within the beauty industry that I try to limit what I don't need. So for me, if something is just as easy to make myself, I will avoid making the purchase.

I very rarely use sugar for cooking, and when I do, it's to feed my SCOBY (kombucha), so I always seem to have some handy at the back of the cupboard.

This body scrub will leave your skin glowing. It's perfect for the colder months, helping the body rid dry, flaking skin. Body scrubs are also great to stimulate circulation, helping with cellulite and even muscle aches and pains.

Massage the scrub into your skin, using gentle strokes, always in an upward direction to help with lymphatic drainage.

1/2 cup sugar

1/4 cup melted coconut oil (or any oil of preference - jojoba feels amazing on the skin)

Essential oils of your choice (optional)

1. Place all ingredients into a jar, shake it up and you're good to go

Best used in the shower: rinse yourself first, turn the water off, scrub away and rinse off!

(caution on delicate areas such as face, neck and underarms)

* Rinse the shower down after use for an easy clean up
